The Complete Range of Handheld Fire Fighting Nozzles

CA-FIRE manufactures a full line of fire hose nozzles (also called fire fighting nozzles or fire fighting guns) for municipal fire brigades, industrial fire teams, marine and offshore use, and emergency response units. Every product is built around the same engineering core — strong anodised aluminium body, DuPont™ nylon pistol grip, stainless steel spinning teeth, replaceable stainless steel strainer, and a choice of brass, stainless or aluminium ball valve.

From the small-flow QLD6.0/4III-D reel-line nozzle at 50–230 LPM, to the large-flow QLD6.0/13III-C at 350–950 LPM, to specialty piercing, chimney and dry-chemical nozzles — the range covers 18 product models in 8 categories, all with 1.5″ / 2.5″ Storz / Machino / NH / NPSH couplings. For higher flow rates above 1,000 LPM see our fire monitor range.

Where Fire Hose Nozzles Are Used

🚒

Municipal Fire Brigades

Adjustable flow nozzles with pistol grip are the standard front-line tool for structural firefighting. The detent flow control lets the operator match flow to fire size — 230 LPM for room-and-contents, 475 LPM for fully-involved compartments — without changing nozzle.

Petrochemical & Tank Farms

Class B liquid fires need foam, not water. Type A foam nozzles (PQA600 large orifice) and medium-expansion foam nozzles (PQZ8/0.8) deliver air-aspirated foam blankets that cool and seal flammable liquid surfaces. Inline eductor variants run direct from 3% / 6% foam concentrate without an external proportioner.

🚢

Marine & Offshore

Salt-water environments destroy aluminium nozzles within a few seasons. The QLD6.0/8III-B marine nozzle uses solid brass construction with galvanised surface treatment for ship engine rooms, deck stations, port firefighting and offshore platform installations under SOLAS Chapter II-2.

🏭

Industrial & Refinery Plants

Plant fire teams use large-flow QLD6.0/13III-C (350–950 LPM) for fire propulsion at process units, and dual-curtain nozzles (QSM350-950) to throw both a fire-suppression stream and a 32-metre flat water curtain that shields the advancing crew from radiant heat.

🚗

Vehicle & Hidden Fires

EV battery fires, container fires, attic voids and engine bay fires need a way to deliver water inside the void — without a hot zone entry. The QCG-1 piercing nozzle drives its 1-metre stainless steel spike through sheet metal, drywall or roofing to flood the fire compartment from the outside.

🧯

Wildland & Reel-Line Use

High-pressure hose-reel trucks and forestry fire vehicles need small-flow, light-weight nozzles. The QLD6.0/4III-D (50–230 LPM, 1″/1.5″ coupling, 1.2 kg) and the super-lightweight QZG3.5/7.5DK (≤0.58 kg, aluminium-magnesium body) are purpose-designed for these applications.

Frequently Asked Questions — Fire Hose Nozzles

What is a fire hose nozzle and how is it different from a fire monitor?
A fire hose nozzle (also called a fire fighting nozzle or fire fighting gun) is a handheld device connected to a fire hose by a 1″, 1.5″ or 2.5″ coupling. It is operated by one or two firefighters at flows of 50–950 LPM (3–16 L/s). A fire monitor, by contrast, is a much larger fixed or portable device with flows of 20–80 L/s mounted on a base or pipe stand. CA-FIRE manufactures both — see our fire monitor range for cannon-class equipment.
What types of fire hose nozzles does CA-FIRE manufacture?
CA-FIRE manufactures 8 categories of handheld fire hose nozzles: (1) Adjustable flow rate nozzles with pistol grip, (2) Multi-functional nozzles with foldable foam sleeve and optional tips, (3) Foam nozzles including Type A, low-expansion and medium-expansion plus inline eductors, (4) Jet and pistol-grip jet nozzles in brass and aluminium, (5) Dual-curtain nozzles for heat-radiation protection, (6) Piercing nozzles for hidden-void fires, (7) Marine brass nozzles for ship and offshore use, and (8) Specialty nozzles including chimney, dry chemical and pressure test. For an in-depth comparison see our fire hose nozzle types buyer's guide.
What flow rate (GPM / LPM) do CA-FIRE fire nozzles deliver?
At the standard 7 bar (100 PSI) working pressure, CA-FIRE handheld fire hose nozzles deliver 50 LPM (≈13 GPM) at the small-flow end up to 950 LPM (≈250 GPM) at the large-flow end. Most adjustable models offer 4–5 selectable detents — for example the QLD6.0/8III-B delivers 115 / 230 / 360 / 475 LPM. For higher flow requirements (above 1,000 LPM / 250 GPM) please refer to our fire monitor range.
What couplings are available on CA-FIRE fire hose nozzles?
Standard couplings are 1.5″ and 2.5″ Storz / Machino / NH / NPSH. The small-flow QLD6.0/4III-D is also available with 1″ coupling for high-pressure reel-line and wildland applications. Custom thread specifications (BS, GOST, AS) are supported for OEM orders. All couplings are forged for high pressure resistance. See our complete firefighting coupling range for adapters, blank caps and Storz / Machino fittings.
What is the difference between an adjustable nozzle and a multi-functional nozzle?
An adjustable nozzle lets the operator change flow rate (e.g. 115 / 230 / 360 / 475 LPM) and pattern (straight jet ↔ wide fog) — all using water as the medium. A multi-functional nozzle goes further: it can also switch media, delivering plain water, Type B air-aspirated foam (with the foam sleeve extended), or Type A foam (with the head folded). Some multi-functional models also accept removable tips for piercing, chimney or solid-stream operation.
What standards do CA-FIRE fire hose nozzles meet?
CA-FIRE handheld fire nozzles are designed and tested to Chinese national standard GB 8181 and are compatible with NFPA 1964 (Spray Nozzles) installation specifications. All products are manufactured under ISO 9001 quality management with 100% pressure testing before shipment. Full test certificates and CAD drawings are provided for every order. PICC product liability insurance covers all shipments.
Can fire hose nozzles be supplied with OEM branding?
Yes. CA-FIRE supports OEM and private-label manufacturing including custom laser engraving, packaging, colour schemes and documentation. Minimum order quantity for OEM branding is typically 50 units per model. Standard lead time is 15–25 working days ex-factory Fujian; OEM lead time is typically 25–40 working days. Contact sales@ca-fire.com for OEM enquiries.
How do I choose the right nozzle for my application?
Start by identifying the fire class (Class A solids, Class B liquids, Class C electrical, Class D metals) and the flow requirement at your available water supply pressure. Class A solid fires use adjustable, jet or multi-functional nozzles. Class B liquid fires need foam nozzles or multi-functional with foam sleeve. Special scenarios (vehicle fires, chimney, ship deck) point to the corresponding specialty product. Our fire hose nozzle types buyer's guide walks through the full selection logic with a decision flowchart.
