Foam Bladder Tank — Horizontal, Vertical & Portable Systems
Complete PHYM / PHY Series · 0.5 m³ – 13.0 m³ · 4 – 360 L/s · DN80 – DN250 · ±0.3% Mixing Accuracy · No Electricity · NFPA 11 · GB / ISO 9001 / CE
Complete Foam Bladder Tank Range — DN80 to DN250, 4 to 360 L/s
CA-FIRE manufactures a complete range of foam bladder tank systems for fixed and mobile foam fire suppression. All models operate on a fully hydraulic proportioning principle — no electricity required — delivering ±0.3% mixing accuracy at 3% or 6% ratio across flow rates from 4 L/s to 360 L/s and tank volumes from 0.5 m³ to 13.0 m³.
Compatible with AFFF, AR-AFFF and protein foam concentrates. Compliant with NFPA 11 (Low-, Medium- and High-Expansion Foam) and NFPA 16 (Closed-Head Foam-Water Sprinkler). GB / ISO 9001 / CE certified. Supplied to petrochemical, aviation, marine and industrial projects in 50+ countries.
All units are supplied as complete, ready-to-install systems — pressure vessel, internal rubber bladder, proportioner assembly, isolation valves, pressure gauges, safety relief valve, level indicator and full system documentation. See our technical download centre for datasheets and installation manuals.

This demonstration shows the PHYM/PHY series foam bladder tank in operation — from system pressurisation through proportioner activation to confirmed foam discharge.
- Hydraulic proportioning — zero electricity required
- Internal rubber bladder isolates foam from water supply
- ±0.3% mixing accuracy at 3% or 6% ratio
- Full factory hydrostatic test at 1.5 MPa before despatch
- Compatible with AFFF, AR-AFFF & protein foam concentrate
Which Foam Bladder Tank Do You Need? — Selection Guide
| Your Situation | Specify This Product | Key Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Underground pump room, basement, shipboard, or low-ceiling building |
Horizontal Foam Bladder Tank PHYM Series · 4–360 L/s View Horizontal Tank → |
Horizontal orientation minimises installed height. Saddle-mounted on foundation — no structural clearance above tank crown. Widest flow range: 4–360 L/s. |
| Above-ground fire pump room, plant room or equipment building with limited floor space |
Vertical Foam Bladder Tank PHY Series · 8–120 L/s View Vertical Tank → |
Vertical orientation trades floor area for height — in some sizes less than half the floor footprint of an equivalent horizontal tank. Preferred where floor space is shared with pumps, switchgear and other equipment. |
| No fixed pipework — first response, temporary protection or mobile supplementary suppression |
Portable Foam Fire Extinguishing System Mobile Unit · 4–8 L/s View Portable System → |
Self-contained — proportioner, foam tank, hose and nozzle on a single wheeled or skid frame. No civil works required. Deployable to any hazard location within minutes. |
| High flow rate system >120 L/s (large petrochemical tank farm or major aircraft hangar) |
Horizontal Foam Bladder Tank PHYM Series · up to 360 L/s View Horizontal Tank → |
The PHYM horizontal series reaches 360 L/s — more than 3× the maximum flow of the vertical range. Only option for peak demand on large tank farm and major hangar suppression systems. |
